Netflix, the popular video streaming service, has announced a significant change in pricing for its services in Sub-Saharan Africa, including Uganda. The new pricing structure is designed to make the service more affordable for viewers to access their favorite movies, TV shows, and Netflix originals.
With the introduction of a new pricing plan that has a better bang for the buck ratio, Netflix is on its way to becoming an even more popular entertainment service in the region. Whether you’re a fan of action, romance, or documentaries, there’s something for everyone on Netflix.
So, how much will Netflix cost in 2023? Well, with the new pricing structure, the mobile viewing plan, which was previously priced at USD 3.99, is now available for USD 2.99. This plan is perfect for those who primarily watch Netflix on their mobile devices.
The Basic plan, which is popular with users who stream on one device at a time in standard definition, is now available for USD 3.99, down from USD 7.99. Meanwhile, the Standard plan, which lets users stream on two devices simultaneously in high definition, is now available for USD 7.99 from USD 9.99. The Premium plan, which allows users to stream on four devices simultaneously in ultra-high definition, is now available for USD 9.99 from USD 11.99.
Existing subscribers who have been paying for the standard plans will be automatically upgraded to the premium plan, as stated in the email received from Netflix. The pricing changes are set to take effect immediately for new members who sign up, while existing members will see the update over the next few weeks during their next billing cycle.
Existing users will also be notified by email and within the Netflix app 30 days before the new prices are applied to them. This will be for only those clients who have signed up for auto-upgrades on their account. Netflix aims to make its services more accessible to a broader range of viewers in Sub-Saharan Africa with the new pricing. The company’s extensive library of feature films, documentaries, TV shows, anime, award-winning Netflix originals, and more is designed to provide many hours of entertainment for viewers in the region.
